    This well-known online bookstore that now reaches every corner of the country was born in 2002<\/strong> with Miguel \u00c1ngel Ferrero and Diego Jim\u00e9nez from M\u00e1laga as its creators. Agapea was born as a result of its founders’ interest in selling books on financial studies<\/strong>. They were attracted by the idea and decided to open a website to attend online book orders<\/strong>, a curious bet considering that at the beginning of the millennium Internet sales were not as frequent as today.  <\/p>\n

    It was not until 2005 when Agapea opened its first <\/span>physical store<\/strong><\/strong>in Malaga, and subsequently began to expand its online services throughout <\/span>Europe<\/strong> and <\/span>America<\/strong>to sell books in Spanish. In 2013 Agapea launched its online site on <\/span>eBay<\/strong>and sales soared internationally registering sales growth of <\/span>62%<\/strong>in that same year. In 2016 the company had a turnover <\/span>16 million<\/strong><\/strong> <\/span>euros<\/strong>, with some <\/span>135.000 home deliveries<\/strong> divided between domestic (70%) and international (30%) orders. Since its founding, therefore, the bookstore has sold around <\/strong>4 million books<\/strong>among its customers in <\/strong>more than 20 countries<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n
